In the foreground a long trestle-bridge with many people crossing. In the distance, the city of Kyoto lies along the river at the foot of a range of grey-green hills, surmounted by a range of brown mountains behind. This view of Kyoto was a celebrated one. It is the counterpart of the Nihonbashi view in Edo （Tokyo） at the start of the series.
