A portion of Utagawa Hiroshige's "Fifty-three stations of the Tokaido road" is woven on Nishijin brocade. Gold and platinum foil are used.

Nihonbashi, the starting point of the Fifty-three stations of the Tokaido road. The painting depicts Nihonbashi bustling with the procession of feudal lords leaving Edo early in the morning and fish vendors. The morning glow and the texture of the buildings are expressed with more depth than in Ukiyoe works, due to the characteristic of Nishijin textiles, which combine various colors to produce a wide variety of hues.
